WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF RIBBON SPEAKERS?
Compared to dome tweeters, either in metal, plastic or fabric, ribbon tweeters have the advantage of a much lower mass. The results are greater acceleration; then you can better reproduce transitions and high frequencies, and a more natural rendition for this end of the spectrum. Moreover, an improved performance in the high range leads to a better linkup with the speaker that does the other end of the spectrum.  These extras make the monitors with a ribbon tweeter especially useful during acoustical music recordings where considerations of timbre and space are paramount.
